As found: All steel 1932 Ford.
1056 Olds power, auto (uck!) with a nine inch rear
hung in 1936 rear 'bones.

The car makes use of a lot of 1956
Oldsmobile items such as the column, steering wheel
and instruments.

Also, the 1956 Oldsmobile gave up
its 324 engine and transmission. It runs very well.
The original '32 steering box
is obviously period correct, but it leaves quite a bit to be desired. I drove
it about half a mile, hit a small pot hole and the
front end went in to a serious death wobble !!
I am going to install all new shackle bushings,
wheel bearing and spindle bearings.
One deviation from this period
correctness will be a Vega steering box with cross
steering. Also, I like a hot rod with a bit of a
rake. Since I need to work on the front end anyway I
am going to install a dropped axle and install tube shocks.

 |
| The head lamp stand
does not allow for proper adjustment of the
head lights, so I have to heat and bend the
stand. Also, I will add a stud for upper
shock mount so I can add tube shocks. |
I personally don't like the motorcycle
blinkers or the friction shocks. |
 |
 |
| I don't like the upside down Hollywood license light. Gotta fix...I am not sure about those tail
lights, but they will stay for one season. |
Same thing with the rear friction
shocks. Gotta go... |
 |
 |
| It looks like the second leaf from the
bottom is too short and it seems like it put
too much stress on the lower leaf and bent
it. I have a stock '40 Ford rear spring to
replace it with. |
I am not
fond of these letters and numbers. I may
have to paint the whole car in order to make
this go away. |
Well, I have my work cut out for
me. Good thing I enjoy working on hot rods.

Everybody builds a car they
way they see fit, and no one is right or wrong. If
they were all the same, they would all look like the
Graffiti Coupe!
I l just like my cars to be very drivable and
predictable. Visually...in my
humble opinion...this front-end needs to be cleaned up.
Head light bar, friction shocks,
blinkers, chrome head lights and steering arm all
need to go.

The modern sealed beam looks too
"new"
on this car. We have to come up with something old
timey looking.
