Introducing...

Rainer's 1959 Buick Electra Mod. 4739 , Four
Door Hard Top

This is class...
Rainer Haeusgen from Hilden, Germany has owned this classic since the
temptation to own a Delta wing equipped car took over. He sold his 1958 Buick,
and bought this car from a fellow member in the Buick Club of
Germany.

| This unmistakable front end |
The dual rear antennas are aftermarket items,
but they sure look right on this car. |
|

|
The car originally came from the state of Minnesota, USA. It
came to Sweden in late 1998. Rainer's fellow Buick club member bought the car in
Malmö, Sweden in 1999 from this ad in a Swedish car magazine.
Sweden has been a Mecca for all things finned for
years. When USA was throwing these car on the scrap pile, Swedes was in
the US in droves, snapping up these winged wonders. It is now a global
hobby, so it is not unusual for cars to move from country to country.

| Back seat offer plenty of room for
a ride in style. The classy door panel are nicely trimmed out on the
Electra model.

Nobody builds dashes likes this anymore.
|
| The new for the year 401 cubic inch motor was available in
the Invicta and Electra models only. The Invicta car was called "The
Most Spirited Buick" and the Electra was called the "Most
luxurious Buick" The 401 was rated 325 horsepower. The car
weight 4,573 lbs (2074 kg) and sold for new $3,963.00.
The Electra was also the choice of pace car at the 1959 Indy 500
race. |

Buick was going to hang even more chrome on the
1958 Buick, in order to create the 1959 car, but after getting a look at
what Chrysler was doing for 1959, a complete redesign followed. The Delta
wings were created....
Good things they did!! |
Thank you Rainer, for sharing your Buick with the rest of
